Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how Chariot of Earth LLC ("we", "us", "our"), operating TextElixir (the "Service"), collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We act as the data controller for the personal data described below.

1. Personal Data We Collect

• Account data: email address, hashed password (or OAuth identifier if you sign in with Google).
• Subscription data: subscription status, plan, billing period dates, and a Stripe customer/subscription identifier.
• Usage & content data: the messages, screenshots, and prompts you submit to the Service, plus AI-generated outputs returned to you.
• Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, operating system, and approximate location derived from IP.
• Analytics & support data: page views, feature usage, error logs, and any messages you send us.
• Advertising data: when ads are served on the Service, advertising partners (including Google) may collect cookie identifiers, device identifiers, IP address, browser/OS information, and interaction data with ads.

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide the Service — create and authenticate your account, deliver AI features (legal basis: contract).
• Manage subscriptions — record purchases and grant Premium access (legal basis: contract).
• Security & fraud prevention — detect abuse and protect users (legal basis: legitimate interests).
• Improve the Service — measure usage, fix bugs, and improve features (legal basis: legitimate interests).
• Customer support — respond to your questions (legal basis: contract / legitimate interests).
• Legal compliance — comply with tax, accounting, and other obligations (legal basis: legal obligation).

3. Who We Share Data With

• Stripe — our payment processor, which handles payments, manages subscriptions, and supports invoicing and tax compliance.
• Hosting & infrastructure providers — to run the database, authentication, and serverless functions that power the Service.
• AI model providers — to generate the AI responses you request. Inputs you submit are sent to these providers solely to produce outputs.
• Analytics providers — to understand product usage in aggregate.
• Advertising partners — including Google AdSense and its third-party vendors, which serve ads on the Service and may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads.
• Professional advisers — legal, accounting, and similar advisers, where reasonably required.
• Authorities — where required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Subscription and billing records are retained as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal compliance (typically up to 7 years). Usage and support records are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted or anonymized.

5. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we and our providers use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your data.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, or to lodge a complaint, email support@textelixir.com. EEA/UK users also have the right to complain to their local supervisory authority.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level database security — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and operate the Service, and limited analytics cookies to understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Third-party advertising cookies. We use Google AdSense to serve ads on the Service. Google and its partners (third-party vendors) use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. 9. Children

TextElixir is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to This Notice

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, communicated to you in-app or by email.
